How well are you settling into the energies of 2026?
January certainly packed a punch with February being ever more impactful as we collectively step into a new paradigm. We are shedding the end of the snake’s tail and stepping fully into the new energy of the fire horse, and as we do so, things will begin to speed up. It becomes more important than ever to give yourself permission to take your time, to allow yourself the opportunity to take stock, to stop and to take a breath before you move into action.
Old, outdated ways of being are falling away, old systems are collapsing and it can be challenging as we navigate the unknown. There will be plenty of distractions, particularly from the media, so it is important to stay focused from the inside out. As we maintain a sense of calmness within, we will begin to create a sense of calm in our outer world as well.
It is more important than ever to take the time to nourish yourself, to give yourself permission to put yourself first and to go for what you want, knowing you deserve this. It is time for the restoration of balance and flow both individually and collectively within our lives; time for us to intentionally cultivate love, peace and calmness within.
A leap of faith
Many of us are choosing to walk away from situations that no longer feel good, whether it is where we live or work, or from a relationship. People are choosing to step away while they don’t yet fully know what they are stepping into. Something inside them is telling them, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ Being unsure about what is coming next but having the courage to take a leap of faith into the unknown, in the knowledge that as they navigate these shifts it can feel scary, but having the bravery to do it anyway. They just know it is time to make changes, to pull the pin, despite feeling scared. There comes a moment where the whisper within begins to shout more loudly, demanding to be heard. They know it’s time to let go of what’s been keeping them stuck and to step away from what has been draining their energy. Loudest and most importantly of all, that voice inside is saying, ‘It’s time to choose yourself.’
For years, many of us have stayed stuck, putting the needs of others first because we have been too afraid to make the changes, but now it’s the time to be brave, to allow yourself to be the tall poppy and to be seen and heard. It’s time to trust and step forwards into the unknown. It’s often the case that we can feel the most stuck just before we expand into new levels of awareness.
I took my own huge, brave step at the beginning of January. I don’t yet know how it is all going to unfold, I just know deep in my heart that it is the right thing to do. I don’t yet know what the next step is for me, but I am trusting that it will all unfold one step at a time. One of my favourite exercises to help me move through this process is to close my eyes and imagine myself in six months from now. I picture myself where I want to be, with the people I want to be with and doing what I want to be doing. I then feel into the energies of these things, really feeling them, as I allow them to move through my body as if they are happening in this precise moment. I then repeat the process in exactly the same way a year from now, really feeling the feelings of where I am, who I’m with and what I’m doing. This helps me to align with my future self and draw all that I want to come into being into my energy field.
Imagine stepping through a doorway, leaving behind all of your old patterns, old relationships, habits, beliefs or situations that you want to let go of. See yourself stepping into a new and exciting chapter, choosing your future and letting go of the past. Trust yourself, it’s time. Keep looking forwards as you take one step at a time. As scary as it is on one level it can also feel exciting and exhilarating, stepping into the unknown with confidence. Ask yourself, what do you need to release? What are you ready to walk away from? What do you truly desire? Remember, you are brave enough, you do deserve to be happy and to live a fulfilled life, you are amazing and you are worthy of the best that life has to offer.
Resting and reconnecting to yourself
I also invite you to ask yourself this question: are you disconnected from yourself? We have been taught over eons of time to look outside of ourselves for our happiness, but in truth we need to go within, to sit and breathe, to rest and relax. We have learnt to make ourselves so busy being what everyone else needs or wants us to be, so much so that we have forgotten our own needs. We don’t enjoy things because we are always thinking about the next task, the next goal, the next thing we have to prove. We fear that if we stop then everything will fall apart.
When was the last time you rested without feeling guilty? I’m not talking about scrolling on your phone. I’m talking about real rest, where you do absolutely nothing and feel okay about it. You are allowed to sit down, you are allowed to breathe, you are allowed to exist without having to prove something to yourself or anyone else.
Do you sometimes feel empty? You are so busy being what everyone else needs you to be that you forget your own needs, the “always on” machine. You’ve learnt to keep going, to push through even when you are feeling tired, even when you are feeling unwell. Rest is not weakness; it is how you recharge. Joy is not selfish; it is how you remember who you truly are.
Making time to nourish yourself
Make the time to nourish yourself and to put yourself first, and not just the version you present out into the world – I mean the inner you. Not the version of you that performs, that achieves, that holds everything together but the quiet inner self. It’s time to give yourself permission to breathe, to feel, to connect with your own deep inner knowingness, with your true self. Give yourself permission to remember who you are and to go for what you want. Remember, following your dreams keeps you young.
Also, give yourself permission to you nourish your soul. It is time to intentionally connect to the peace and calm within, to pause long enough to honour yourself, honour the way you keep going through thick and thin. Honour the boundaries you are learning to set for yourself. Honour the softness you are allowing back in, not for someone else but for yourself. Treat yourself with kindness and with care, be grateful for the person you are becoming – choose yourself because you are amazing and you are worth it.
Remember as you navigate all that unfolds, healing and meditation are two wonderful tools to assist you in finding the peace and calm within. Bringing you back into balance, enabling you to soften, open and expand your heart space, learning to know yourself on a soul level.
